2013 - Shamrock 5K Beer Run

This race is on!  You don't want to miss this amazingly fun run!!!  Start your run with a toast!  Afther the first beer, run around Broad Ripple, pausing every kilometer or so to drink another beer (approx. 3 ounces).  Of course, you need to be at least 21 years old for this race.  All runners get a t-shirt (I hope green is your color!); medal (that doubles as bottle-opener) and tons of free pictures.  Pictures will be uploaded to facebook. You may copy and download them as you wish.  Maybe best of all, it's awesome craft beer - featuring Sun King, Fountain Square, Sam Adams and Upland!!!  WTTS will supply the music at the Start/Finish.

What if it rains?  Then you'll be running and drinking in the rain.

Is there Gear Check? Yes, and it's free!

Where do we park?  It's Broad Ripple... Park whever you can.

Is this timed? If you want to see how much pausing to drink slows you down, you may have your race chip-timed for an additional $2.50 - about the cost of a beer.

What is the running route? We start at Opti-Park on 66th St, just east of College Ave, then turn north on College to 75th - then we return to the park via The Monon and 66th Street.

Are there prizes? Besides having about as much fun as you can while running, yes we will have several raffle prizes. Some for best costumes and most of them random drawings.

Is there a charity? Yes, we are donating a portion of proceeds to Indianapolis Parks Foundation. We love The Monon and want to help them help maintain and improve it.

What do we do after the race? It's still early:) Broad Ripple Tavern is hosting an after-party. In fact the first 500 runners at BRT receive a free souvenir pint glass!  Upland Brewery's Broad Ripple Tasting Room also has Upland wrist-bands for post-race runners while supplies last.

Is there music? Yes - WTTS will be there playing tunes to help get you ready to run!

Is there food? We will have fruit, like bananas, and maybe some snacks.  Plan on eating somewhere in Broad Ripple though.

Water? Yes, water is at the start and finish as well as the half-way point.  Thanks to Aqua Systems!

Pictures? We love pictures, but we don't love races charging you a *load to buy them. We upload pictures to facebook.
