2016 Shamrock Beer 5K Run/Walk


2016 Shamrock 5K Beer Run is Bigger and Better!!!

Saturday March 12, 2:00pm

Georgia Street, Downtown Indy (We think...  Possibility of different downtown location)

What do you get, you ask?

Shirt (Featuring our leprechaun)

Beer (3 ounces five different times & pint at the finish)

Customized Bib (Choose your bib-name wisely)

Pint Glass 

Pint of local craft beer

Medal (2015 medal pictured. 2016 being designed)


Backpacks of Hope is our primary charity-partner.  Please bring some items for them if you can.  Items include: Backpacks, Hats, Gloves, Socks, Toothpaste, Toothbrushes, Deodorant, Blankets, Shampoo, Conditioner, Razors, Soap/BodyWash, Foot Powder, Nonperishable Food, Lotion, Water.  Backpacks of Hope provides backpacks of items to the homeless.

Team RWB will be ikely pouring beer at the Starting Line. This local charity works hard to support our veterans!

Backpacks of Hope is likely pouring beer at the first Beer Stop.  If you're up for it, carry your backpack donation for the first kilometer and donate it there:)

The Little Red Door is likely pouring beer at the second Beer Stop.  They are a wonderful cancer agency helping patients immensely!

John Boner Community Center is likely pouring beer at the third Beer Stop. They improve life on the near Eastside of Indy.

Timmy Global Health is likely pouring at the fourth Beer Stop.  They improve Front-Line healthcare and inspire our future healthcare providers.

Various local breweries will be involved in 2016. The silly run begins with a toast and 3 ounces of local brew. You then enjoy another beer each kilometer (give or take a few meters).  When you finish, you receive your medal and a pint-glass to fill with your favorite. Several varieties available.

Can kids run? Nope- Per our insurance, this one is 21+ only. No strollers either:(

Why is it so expensive? Because we're raising money for charities and doing our best to make it an awesome event. Feel free to contact one of our charities, they have some discounted tickets available.

How do I change my bib name? Log into and make it happen (Before Feb 26,2016).  Or We will have some Sharpies on-site for your coloring pleasure.

I ca't make it:(  You may sell or transfer your registration. After your entry is sold or given away, log into to make the changes. If you want Fun-Races to do the transfer for you, email - we charge $5.00.

ID Check? You MUST BRING ID race day.

Does this run earn funReward points? Yes! If you haven't yet signed up, do so when you register.

What if it rains? Then drink your beer faster or it may get watered down.  We go rain or shine.

Is there gear check? Yes, and it's free:)

Is this timed? Not by us.  Set your iPhone or Droid if you want.

What should I wear? Green and fun are good!  Costumes are encouraged, there will be prizes for the most fun/creative costumes.

Where do I park? Find a designated driver and let them worry about it:) Seriously, anywhere downtown should be fine.  There is a lot going on downtown, so arrive early.

Where exactly is the run? The 2015 5K run began and ended at Georgia Street & Capitol Ave. is a link to the route. The 2016 route willl likely change, especially if Comicon is in town.  It's just too crowded on Maryland Street.

May my dog run with me? Yes, but no beer for him/her.  You know the rules, clean up and leashes...

How much beer do I really get? You get five seperate 3-ounce beers. Plus you get a pint at the finishline.  That's 31 total ounces.

Is there packet pickup? Yes. Packet PIckup at each brewery Monday-Friday. Check Facebook and emails for info. Or you may get your stuff on race day at the venue.

Can my non-running friends come? Yes, but we charge $10.00 for entry because space is limited- so they might as well register to get the swag:)

Are there prizes? Not for the faster runners, but YES for super-fun costumes.

Pictures? We will have photographers hanging around. They will upload photos to our Facebook page. You may do with them what you wish for free!  Just like our page -
